Plan Your Day with Today
The Today page is your main workspace in Mosic. It shows tasks due today alongside a calendar timeline, giving you a clear view of what needs to be done and what’s scheduled. This page is the first thing you see after logging in.
Use this guide to understand how to navigate the Today page, organize your daily tasks, and track your progress throughout the day.
Page Layout
The Today page has two panels:
Left panel: Task list
- Quick task creation field at the top
- To Do section showing incomplete tasks
- Done section showing completed tasks (collapsible)
- Task count and time estimates for each section
- Filter button to narrow down tasks by status or priority
Right panel: Calendar timeline
- Weekly calendar view with hourly time slots
- Visual display of events and time blocks
- Multiple days visible for context
Drag the divider between the two panels to resize them.
Understanding Task Organization
To Do Section
The To Do section shows every incomplete task for the selected date. Tasks appear sorted by priority. This section includes:
- Tasks that started today or earlier and are not yet completed
- Tasks due today or earlier that have no start date and are not yet completed
- Tasks specifically marked as due today
The section header shows the total time estimate and task count.
Done Section
The Done section lists tasks you completed on the selected date. It starts collapsed by default. Click the chevron icon to expand or collapse it. The header shows total time tracked and count of completed tasks.
Navigating Between Dates
The date controls appear at the top of the Today page:
- Date picker — Click to open the calendar and select any specific date.
- Previous arrow (←) — View the previous day’s tasks.
- Next arrow (→) — View the next day’s tasks.
- Today button — Appears when you are viewing a different date. Click to return to the current day.
The task list updates automatically when you select a new date.
Filtering Tasks
Use filters to focus on specific tasks:
- Click the Filter button above the task list.
- Select which statuses to show (Backlog, ToDo, In Progress, In Review, and so on).
- Select which priority levels to show (Low, Normal, High, Urgent, Critical, Blocker).
- Close the filter panel.
Mosic saves your filter settings and panel width automatically for the Today page (stored in your browser’s local storage).
Viewing Task Details
Each task card displays:
- Task title
- Status badge (Backlog, ToDo, In Progress, and so on)
- Priority badge (Low, Normal, High, Urgent, Critical, Blocker)
- Project or list tags (colored pills)
- Due date
- Time estimate (for example, “2h” or “40h”)
- User avatar showing the assignee
Understanding Time Summaries
The Today page shows time estimates at three levels:
- Overall total — Time for all tasks currently displayed
- To Do total — Time for incomplete tasks
- Done total — Time for completed tasks
These totals help you plan your day and understand your workload.
Creating Tasks Quickly
From the Quick Add Field
- Click the “Add new task” field at the top of the task list.
- Type your task title.
- Press Enter.
The task is created with today’s date automatically.
With Full Options
For complete task creation with all available fields, open a task from the quick add field and fill in the detail view.
Recommended Daily Workflow
Start Your Day
- Open the Today page (it loads by default after login).
- Review tasks in the To Do section.
- Check total time estimates to plan your day.
- View the calendar timeline for scheduled meetings and events.
- Apply filters if you need to focus on specific priorities or statuses.
During the Day
- Work through tasks by priority.
- Click a task to open its detail view and update the status.
- Add new tasks using the quick add field.
- Check the calendar timeline to stay aware of scheduled events.
- Completed tasks appear in the Done section automatically.
End of Day
- Review the Done section to see what you accomplished.
- Check remaining tasks in To Do.
- Click the next arrow to navigate to tomorrow.
- Preview upcoming work to prepare for the next day.
- Reschedule any unfinished tasks if needed.
Troubleshooting
Not seeing today’s tasks
Check the following:
- Verify the date picker shows today’s date. Click Today to return to the current day.
- Confirm the task due date is set correctly.
- Check that filters are not hiding your tasks. Reset filters to show all.
- Verify the task belongs to your workspace.
Too many overdue tasks
Consider these approaches:
- Check the Upcoming page for earlier columns with unfinished work.
- Reschedule tasks that are no longer relevant.
- Complete quick tasks first to make progress.
- Delegate tasks to teammates if appropriate.
Task count seems wrong
- Check if filters are active and may be hiding tasks.
- Verify the Done section is expanded. Collapsed sections still exist but are not visible.
- Confirm you are viewing the correct date.
- Make sure the tasks belong to the workspace you are currently using.
Calendar timeline is empty
The calendar shows events from your integrated calendars. If it appears empty:
- Verify your calendar accounts are connected in Mosic settings.
- Check that events exist in your external calendar.
- Confirm the date range on the calendar includes days with scheduled events.
